**Act II: Where the Horizon Melts**
Scene 1: The Azure Shore. NIO is seen center stage, gently untangling a shimmering net from a group of coral dancers (sea life). FOTIA enters from above, landing softly on a pier. They lock eyes. The music swells.
NIO: I have seen the sun reflect on the waves a thousand times, but I have never seen it walk upon the sand. Who are you?
FOTIA: I am Fotia. I followed the rhythm of the tides. You... you move like the moon’s reflection.
NIO: I am Nio. You are far from the peaks, Fire-Bird. Are you not afraid of the spray?
FOTIA: (Smiling) I was. Until I saw how gently you held that reef.
Scene 2: The Village Square. Days pass. FOTIA plays her lyre for the sea-dwellers. They dance. NIO watches from the water’s edge, captivated. Later, they walk along the shore.
FOTIA: (Distressed) Nio, the village is full of joy, but my heart is heavy. Steam rises when we touch. You are the deep, and I am the flame. If I love you, do I extinguish you? If you love me, do I turn to ash?
NIO: (Taking her hand, a soft mist rises between them) Look at the mist, Fotia. It isn't destruction. It is a veil. It is the breath of the world. My cold tempers your heat; your warmth gives my soul light. We do not end each other. We balance the earth.
(They embrace as the stage fades to a soft, violet twilight.)
